We're pleased to announce the arrival of a new physiotherapist, Rebecca Hurran, to our clinic. Rebecca has previously worked for the NHS, at St Mary’s Hospital (Paddington) and the award winning Central London Community Healthcare NHS trust, alongside private orthopaedic work at the Lister Hospital in Chelsea. Whilst in London, she also worked for 3 seasons as the lead Physio for Twickenham Rugby Club and has been working with GB Rowing since January 2010.
In an exciting new venture King's College has taken the step this term of engaging the Exeter Physio Sports and Spinal Clinic to work with its sports scholars and pupils, in order to provide high quality physiotherapy services to those who need it. This experience will allow our pupils to benefit from immediate high quality treatment when they need it most.
The service has been very successful at keeping individual athletes on track with their performance, and both Co-Directors of Sport, Nick Gresswell and Sara Similien, have been impressed with the turnaround of injuries and the quality of advice and treatment that pupils have been receiving. It has certainly had a positive effect on keeping the rugby and hockey teams running at full capacity this term.
