Kate, our neuro rehab physio has over twenty five years of working with adults with neurological impairments. She initially worked at Kings College Hospital (London) in neurosurgery, acute neuro rehab and community based rehabilitation. She then worked at a regional neuro rehab unit in Exeter before setting up in private practice. She has been joined by Hema who has a wealth of experience treating patients in their home environment.
We are able to assess and provide a physiotherapeutic treatment for a wide range of neurological problems including:
- Stroke (CVE)
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Spinal Cord Injury
Treatment focuses on the specific physical difficulties of each individual, facilitating an improvement in abilities and daily tasks. This may involve, for example:
- Balance re-education
- Hand/arm rehab
- Gait training
Family members or carers are welcome to be involved in the treatment planning and implementation if appropriate. Treatments can be at the clinic, an individuals home or another venue if appropriate (i.e. swimming pool or a gym).
