Neurological rehabilitation
At Exeter Physio we have over 15 years experience working with adults with neurological impairments, including specialist areas such as neurosurgery, acute neuro rehab, and community based rehabilitation.
Our dedicated team member has worked as a senior physiotherapist at Mardon Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Exeter, a specialist unit for young adults providing intensive in-patient and community based rehabilitation.
We are also able to assess and provide a physiotherapeutic treatment for a wide range of neurological problems including:
- Stroke (CVE)
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Spinal Cord Injury
Treatment focuses on the specific physical difficulties of each individual, facilitating an improvement in abilities and daily tasks. This may involve, for example:
- Balance re-education
- Hand/arm rehab
- Gait training
Family members or carers are welcome to be involved in the treatment planning and implementation if appropriate. Treatments can be at:
- The clinic
- An individuals home
- Or another venue if appropriate i.e. swimming pool or gym
